What is ISN?
ISN Amsterdam is a student run, non profit organisation for international students of the HvA and UvA.
The International Student Network Amsterdam (ISN-A) was founded in July 1997. The ISN-A is run on a non-profit basis by a board of eight Dutch students and monitored by a supervisory board of the Universiteit van Amsterdam and Hoge School van Amsterdam. It is part of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), which is a large international organisation of student networks throughout Europe, and was founded in 1990 in Utrecht (The Netherlands). It had it's 1 millionth student participating in an Erasmus exchange project last year!
Our organisation aims to facilitate the social and cultural integration of international students in Dutch society, and Amsterdam in particular. We try to achieve this by:
*coordinating and stimulating the mentor system
*publishing a bi-monthly magazine: "The Insiders"
*organising introduction periods, parties, drinks, weekendtrips, excursions and other cultural and sportive activities.
Off to record though, we aim to corrupt you as is expected of you in Amsterdam. Old ISNers and new converts, share pictures and keep your eye on the events bulletinboard!
